Hand dyed with logwood + cochineal + lac.
Logwood is a tree originally found in the forests of Central America. The dye comes from the heartwood. The logwood extract used is produced using processes that comply with organic textile certifications.
Cochineal comes from a female scale insect, Dactylopius coccus, that lives on prickly pear cactus plants. The insects yield a natural carmine dye.
Lac is a natural dye that is extracted from scale insects, Kerria lacca, found in Asia.
Lomra is Irish for "fleece" and this yarn is grown, collected and spun in Ireland. Each skein comes with a traceability tag containing a QR code which leads you to a website with a list of the farmers where the wool was grown.
This yarn can be worn next to the skin and is perfect for knitting, crochet or weaving projects.
