Lomra - Oyster Pearl

Hand dyed with walnut + areca nut + logwood.

Black walnut shells contain tannin and are perfect for dyeing with.

Areca nut is the fruit of the Areca palm, Areca catechu, and as such, is not a true nut. 

Logwood is a tree originally found in the forests of Central America. The dye comes from the heartwood. 

Lomra is Irish for "fleece" and this yarn is grown, collected and spun in Ireland. Each skein comes with a traceability tag containing a QR code which leads you to a website with a list of the farmers where the wool was grown.

This yarn can be worn next to the skin and is perfect for knitting, crochet or weaving projects.
