Merino Twist - Lychee Rose

Hand dyed with madder, lac and cow parsley.

Madder root is one of the oldest natural dyes and has been used for many centuries in Turkey, Iran and India in intricate carpet designs. It is produced using processes that respect the environment and comply with organic textile certifications.

Lac is a natural dye that is extracted from scale insects (Kerria lacca) found in Asia.

Cow parsley is a weed yielding a lemon yellow which I foraged along our road.

This yarn can be worn next to the skin and is perfect for knitting, crochet or weaving projects.
